Gay Marriage
For far to long we have been discriminating against the GLB&T communities. To many of my friends have faced legal discrimination in the courts. A mother who happens to be a lesbian is no different from a mother who is straight, they both can be wonderful or horrible mothers. How many straight mom’s have screwed up their kids? How many have killed their children. It wasn’t because they were straight or gay, it was because they were just fucked up!
The Little Girl
La Niña has hit the west coast and I am here in the south, as faraway from it as ever. This year La Niña will create some of the best ski conditions. I hope to be able to return before the end of the season.

I would love to see what the city looked like back then. I would image that if the regrade had not happen it would be stairs going up to Yesler Ave., instead of the monster bitch of a urban hill that it is.
Only one more day
Thankfully the election is tomorrow I am so sick of this Mid-Term it is not even funny. I have been a political junky my whole life, but this year we have to many morons in the mix.
How weird is this?
So a man was killed yesterday by a mountain goat in Olympic National Park. I wonder how many people have killed by a goat?

The Healthcare Debate
Why do we need health care reform in this country? So we can compete in the Global market place. If our companies are expected to spend large portions of profit on health insurance for their employees, they will move jobs overseas where that is not a issue for them.
Health care is too expensive and uncertain—costs are increasing by at least 6 percent per year. If you fall ill, lose your job, or just grow older, you could be priced out of coverage or lose it altogether. The only thing guaranteed about health care today is that it will cost more tomorrow. And you’re not the only one wondering how you’ll pay. Washington State and major employers are also scrambling.
Starbucks spends more on health care costs than coffee beans. The Big Three U.S. automakers each spend more on health care costs than steel. A recent Rand study showed that 15 major industries in the U.S. will suffer job losses and output if health care costs continue to rise. These statistics paint a disturbing prediction: if your company covers your insurance today, there is zero guarantee that it will next year.
